8-channel adapter between AES72 and 1/4" TRS

The TRP8 breaks two AES-72 RJ-45 connections out to eight channels of balanced (or unbalanced) 1/4" TRS, with the 1/4" jacks mounted at right angles to the RJ45s. Pair with another Tetrapatch unit on the other side for a complete 8-channel snake replacement over standard shielded CAT-6E or CAT-8 cable. Mountable to the HF100 and HF101.

  • Replacing an 8-channel TRS snake between rack and desk, or rack and stage
  • Separating internal rack connections from external cable runs
  • Connecting a keyboard rig or outboard chain back into the studio over CAT-8 network cable

  • The TFP8 converts 8 channels of balanced TRS audio into two RJ45 connections (4 channels per RJ45, per the AES-72 standard). Use it to send outputs from a console, interface, or outboard rack into a single pair of Cat cables. 

  • Yes, or any AES-72-compliant breakout. The TFP8 sends signal into a Cat cable; you need a corresponding adapter to break the signal back out to TRS at the destination. The TRP8 is the standard pair for this. 

  • Yes, but you'll lose the noise rejection benefits of balanced operation. For long cable runs especially, balanced sources are strongly recommended.
