An 8-channel right-angle adapter — one end of a Tetrapatch run

The TRP8 breaks two AES-72 RJ-45 connections out to eight channels of balanced (or unbalanced) 1/4" TRS, with the 1/4" jacks mounted at right angles to the RJ45s. Pair with another Tetrapatch unit on the other side for a complete 8-channel snake replacement over standard shielded CAT-6E or CAT-8 cable. Mountable to the HF100 and HF101.

Use it for

  • Replacing an 8-channel TRS snake between rack and desk, or rack and stage
  • Separating internal rack connections from external cable runs
  • Connecting a keyboard rig or outboard chain back into the studio over CAT-8 network cable

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The TRP8 takes two AES-72 RJ45 inputs and breaks them out to 8 channels of balanced TRS. It's the receive end of a Tetrapatch run — pair it with a TFP8 on the send side for a complete 8-channel snake replacement.

  • No soldering. Run standard Cat cable in from the TFP8 on the other end, plug your TRS cables out to your desk or mixer. Same RJ45 jack as any network cable.

  • Network cable in, TRS out — there's no custom mapping to get backwards. If something's off, re-seat the connection.

  • Contact us directly — no tiered support, no forms first.

  • Yes. Every Ashton Research product is covered by a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

If something goes wrong, contact us. No forms, no return authorization numbers, no hoops. We'll make it right.

We build this gear to last well beyond the warranty period — but if it doesn't, that's on us.

  • You're paying to land the signal cleanly at the destination end, every time. Once the TRP8 is wired into your desk or mixer, reconfiguring the rest of the studio is just swapping the Cat cable — the destination end never has to be re-patched.

  • Engineers and keyboard players choose the TRP8 for the destination end of a Cat-cable run — it breaks two AES-72 RJ45 connections back out to eight channels of balanced 1/4" TRS, right where the signal needs to land. Paired with a TFP8 at the source, it completes an 8-channel snake replacement over standard shielded Cat cable, in a compact unit that drops into the rack. It uses the same mounting system as the TFP8, so it fits your rack the same way. And because it follows the open AES-72 standard rather than a proprietary one, it'll work with any compliant adapter on the other end — you're never locked to a single vendor.
